October 2021 - Healthcare HRTech Company, GapNurse Launches Reg CF Funding Campaign on PicMiiCrowdfunding Platform

PRESS RELEASE: October 10, 2020

Healthcare HRTech Company, GapNurse Launches Reg CF Funding Campaign on PicMiiCrowdfunding Platform

Denver, CO October 10, 202 – Gapnurse, who’s getting healthcare to work by simplifying staff retention and lowering turnover costs in post-acute healthcare, today announced it launched their Regulation CF funding campaign on PicMiiCrowdfunding to bolster its market presence.

“I chose GapNurse because the service just makes sense. It seems there’s a new story about people leaving their jobs every day because of the pressure they’re under. GapNurse approaches the situation from a nurse’s point of view, not the old school agencies who are contributing to the problems in the first place,”              – Geraldine K., Maine, U.S.A. – Reg. CF Investor

Last month, the Healthcare HRTech company was recently selected as one of 1,000+ applicants to Newchip’s competitive accelerator program and was also brought into the prestigious KiwiTech technology mentor program because of its deep understanding of the industry’s underlying problems and how technology can be leveraged to cure them.

“To understand GapNurse is to know where we’ve been; our founding team has over 120 years of direct patient care experience in long-term and skilled care,” said Kevin Lundy, CEO and Co-Founder of GapNurse, “we’re not in this to benefit from nursing staff shortages. GapNurse is an advanced platform that alleviates the causes of turnover before responding to natural attrition”

With an entire generation of nurses retiring and fewer nurses graduating, on top of the Covid-19 pandemic massive turnover is crippling skilled nursing, long-term care, home health, and hospice businesses with little end in sight. New vaccine mandates are also causing thousands of healthcare workers around the country to become ineligible to provide care, so the U.S. healthcare delivery system is at a real boiling point.

While healthcare staffing agencies can help offset the immediate impact of turnover, they’re really competing with their customers for the same finite pool of nurses. Thanks to GapNurse’s its customers are seeing a 33% reduction in turnover costs and decreasing levels of burnout in their existing staff.

February 2021 - Releasing Platform 2.0

PRESS RELEASE: February 2020

GapNurse Releases Platform Version 2.0

GapNurse, a SWaS (software WITH a service) technology platform, resolves daily challenges related to compliance and labor issues in post-acute, long-term care, skilled nursing, home health, and hospice. In response to growing concerns over security, privacy, and user experience, it has introduced Version 2.0 of its Software Platform.

“Staying ahead of security risks and maintaining the privacy of its users has always been paramount for our team,” says the company’s spokesperson. “Having considered a variety of excellent alternatives, we elected to migrate our services to AWS as a best-of-breed provider for privacy protection and leading security practices.”

In addition to privacy protections and the integrity of its security, Version 2.0 introduces several new product features designed for training, team access, and customer support. Along with these changes, GapNurse has also introduced an on-site support program for its customers, virtually allowing them to place their compliance and staffing needs on autopilot.

GapNurse combines workflow management software with an open marketplace to solve real-world problems in healthcare. While providers traditionally rely on outside agencies and complex technologies to solve their labor issues, getting staff buy-in is often challenging. GapNurse has bridged the gap between facility managers and clinicians who provide daily care to patients and families.

About GapNurse
GapNurse is a platform founded by healthcare professionals whose aim is to allow nurses and nursing assistants to enjoy their professions with flexibility. It seamlessly connects independent nursing professionals with healthcare facilities that are looking to fill short-
term and permanent assignments.

November 2020 - Opening FL Office

PRESS RELEASE: November 2020

GapNurse Enters South Florida

GapNurse, a company providing a SAAS technology platform, addresses compliance and labor issues in post-acute, long-term care, skilled nursing, home health, and hospice. As the Covid-19 Pandemic rages on, an increasing number of companies are fighting to retain exhausted employees. GapNurse gives managers struggling to balance budgets an easy way to efficiently allocate existing labor resources while introducing an open marketplace of pre-qualified clinicians for available shifts not filled by current staff.

GapNurse has appointed Monica Nicole as its Florida General Manager, a former home healthcare owner/operator. “This is a truly unique opportunity for healthcare managers to decrease their agency costs and give their existing employees a much-deserved break”, says Nicoli. “As care providers, we all know the inefficiencies that exist throughout healthcare, and we even know how to solve these problems… but daily operations are so overwhelming that there aren’t enough hours in the day to fix them.”

The founders of GapNurse, who collectively have over 125 years of patient care and healthcare administration experience, finally had enough and decided to solve the problem. As Nicoli points out, “one cool thing about GapNurse is that the founders realize that the product has to keep evolving to stay relevant, and they’re constantly listening to our customers to make it better every day.”

GapNurse combines workflow management software with an open marketplace to solve real-world problems. While healthcare providers have traditionally looked to outside agencies and disparate technologies to chip away at their labor issues, they’re still exposed to compliance and staff receptivity problems. GapNurse has bridged the gap between facility manager’s needs and clinicians who provide daily care to patients and families. Despite the challenging environment Covid introduces, an increasing number of facility managers and clinicians realize the benefit of a sensible solution for an age-old problem.

September 2020 - GapNurse Bridging the Gap in the Healthcare Industry

PRESS RELEASE: September 2020

GapNurse Bridging the Gap in the Healthcare Industry

A brand new SAAS technology platform, GapNurse, is helping address one of the biggest challenges facing the healthcare industry. The platform is connecting nursing professionals with local healthcare facilities. While introducing the platform, one of the GapNurse founders said that they are coming in to provide solutions at a time when there is a dire emergency shortage and a gap between the healthcare professional’s availability and their demand. While emphasizing that they are not a staffing agency, the founder stressed that they are providing a revolutionary approach for facilities and nurses to discover their compatibility.

GapNurse, which seeks to empower nurses through offering flexibility and higher pay while at the same time helping to lower the cost of care, is currently seeking RNs, LPNs, CNAs, Medical Technicians, and QMAPs.

The shortage of healthcare professionals, and specialist nurses, in particular, has been crippling the healthcare industry for a long time. Never in recent history has this challenge been so clear than the first half of 2020, when the world was grappling with a serious public health crisis. The shortage of nurses increases in medical complexities, caregiver fatigue, and now COVID-19; the new reality is pushing talented caregivers to new levels of exhaustion. This is what promoted a group of health administrators, nurses, and technologists to put their differences aside and create a real-world solution that can put these problems to an end.

“We seek to connect empowered healthcare workers with organizations who value their skills and knowledge and to promote a safe, affordable, and trustworthy community of care,” said the platform spokesperson, also confirming that licensed clinicians (RNs, LPNs, CNAs, Med-Techs, QMAPs) are joining at no cost. The platform spokesperson also added that the safety and security of their information are guaranteed, as it will be stored in the nurse’s “Personal Vault”.

Signing up
Nurses sign up by being prompted on an app that is downloaded in the iPhone’s App Store OR in Google Play on Android devices. The registration process is prompted and videos are available to guide users through the registration process. Nurses provide details such as their healthcare license number and their records of vaccinations. During the application, one should provide a personal photo and copies of auto insurance as some of the assignments may require travel as well as giving consent for a background check. Other details include payment options where one can choose same-day pay or weekly direct deposits as well as infection control records. “All the information provided during the registration process is treated with the utmost confidentiality, and its security and safety is guaranteed,” added the platform spokesperson.

What the users are saying
Nurses who have signed up with the platform talk of the great benefits they have gotten in the short period it has been in operation. Debora, a director of nursing, had this to say: “So I decided to try GapNurse. Turns out, I was able to try out nurses before making them full time offers, and I wasn’t disappointed.” The same experience was expressed by Mary, an RN in Florida, “GapNurse allowed me to pick up a few extra shifts here and there, and I earned higher rates than at my full-time job. It’s a great way to make more money to pay off debt”. Flexibility is also proven by Brian, a CNA from Colorado who likened it with Uber: “It’s just like Uber for nurses. All I had to do was log onto the app, picked up 4-hour shift 2 miles from my house, and I was paid on the same day. It was awesome.” Similar flexibility sentiments were expressed by Morgan, an LPN, from Florida: “Everyone says nurses are in demand, but I was laid off because I didn’t want to work on a COVID Floor. GapNurse allows me to pick up shifts whenever I want, so it lets me live the lifestyle I want while making enough money to pay my bills.”

To re-assure facility managers, GapNurse carefully and thoroughly checks the background of the nurses who participate in the program; this, according to the platform spokesperson, ensures that caregivers are receiving the high-quality care they deserve. Upon vetting, a nurse is required to choose jobs that they are fit to do based on their qualifications, experience, availability, flexibility, and comfort. Among the benefits that a caregiver gets from this program is affordable and quality healthcare while the professional nurses are guaranteed of higher and same-day payment as well as access to online learning tools and education while their details are kept secure and safe. “We are helping nursing professionals to seamlessly connect with local facilities that value their skills and experience. In doing that, we are contributing to the development of healthcare through promoting safety, affordability, and a trustworthy community of care,” said the GapNurse spokesperson.

May 2020 - Tech to Help Landscape Changing from Pandemic

PRESS RELEASE: May 2020

Pandemic Is Changing the Landscape of Nursing Care

In our lifetimes, we have never witnessed a virus outbreak like the current Covid-19 pandemic.  One of the most startling trends emerging from this crisis is the growing number of nurses laid off from their jobs. As hospitals transition to accommodate an increasing number of Covid patients, nurses unwilling or unable to work in “Covid” units are becoming displaced from roles hospitals traditionally provide. While fear of nursing shortages remains, these nurses are now considering alternative working arrangements.

GapNurse is a SAAS technology platform built to solve compliance and labor issues in post-acute, long-term care, skilled nursing, home health, and hospice. Over the past several months, GapNurse has seen a significant increase in the number of nurses registering in hopes of finding employment outside of the Covid environment.

“We expected the pandemic to slow things down for us, but the opposite has been true. Over the past few months, nurses and nurse assistants have been registering on our GapNurse.com site to find work opportunities that won’t place their families at risk of contracting Covid”, said the company’s spokesperson. “Although treating Covid patients is a priority, there are still so many non-Covid patients who need high levels of care.”

Through GapNurse, licensed nurses and nurse assistants can bring their skills to help in those areas they’re most needed. The platform allows providers to post open shifts and get matched with those caregivers who choose from various assignment choices. Before going into a new facility, nurses become oriented to the care environment. They can easily access case managers’ support if the situation arrives, lessening any anxiety about being alone with new patients for the first time.
